Windows software for the
Texas Instruments calculators
(using the TalkTI SDK)
New (11/23/03): TI-SlideshowSetup.zip
(227kb) contains a setup package for my TI-Slideshow.exe, which lets you browse
to a folder containing pic files from TI-73, 83, 83+, 83+SE, 89, 92, 92+, and
Voyage 200 calcs and run a slideshow. This version (posted 11/23/03) has two
windows, one for selecting the path, the other for showing the pictures. Click
on a pic file in the filelistbox to run the show manually (up/down kbd arrow
keys work, too) or click the 'Play' button to run a timed show. Resize or maximize
the slide window and change the timing while the slides are playing. This version
also 'remembers' the last folder accessed the next time it runs. Double-click
the slide window's Title Bar to maximize it and press [Esc] to restore to a
window.
TalkTI is a Texas Instruments Software Developers' Kit
that allows programmers to easily set up communications between the computer
and TI calculators.
For more information on the IVIEW programs see the IVIEW
OVERVIEW page. These programs were developed with Microsoft Visual
Basic 6.0 , and therefore need msvbvm60.dll on your computer.
This file is not included in the setup packages. Some versions of Windows ship
with this file already installed. It merely has to be present in c:\windows
or c:\windows\system.
If you have installed TI Connect, then you
should not neet to download the setup packages, just the exe
files.
The setup packages install some TI Connect "dll"
files, but not all of TI Connect. If newer versions of these files
are already on your computer, then you will keep the newer files during the
intall process. The setup packages were made with Microsoft's Package and Deployment
Wizard that comes with Visual Basic.
For USB connectivity, you must install the "SilverLink"
driver from Texas Instruments. This gets installed with TI
Connect . These setup packages do not install this driver
and I do not distribute it, so I guess it's a good idea to just
install TI Connect first.
These programs should be considered 'amateur software' and I
assume no responsibility for any damage incurred on your
computer, calculator, or person should you install this software.
These are the executable files (*.exe). If you've already installed TI Connect
1.3 or downloaded and installed the setup packages and only want the latest
executables then use these links:
- 89iview.exe for the TI-89. Modified
20 Sep 2003. Fixed 'New' button and 'Import' glitch.
- V2iview.exe for the Voyage 200, TI-92+
and TI-92.
- 83view.exe for the TI-73, 83, 83+, and
83+SE.
- Grab83.exe ditto
- Grab89.exe (built 9/06/2002) works with
89, 92, 92+, and Voyage 200. Fixed problem in Horizontal/Vertical gradient
coloring.
Place the files anywhere you like . If you ran the setup
programs, then replace your current exe files
(found in c:\program files\<program name>) with the new exe
file.
Each ZIP file below contains a 'readme.txt' file that you should
read before installing the software. The readme.txt file is also
copied into the program's folder as part of the setup process.
The following links are for downloading the full setup packages:
- 89IVIEW setup package (ZIP file -1.8
mb) Posted 06/01/03. For the TI-89 picture files.
- 83IVIEW setup package (ZIP file -
2 mb). Posted 06/01/03. For the TI-73, 83, 83Plus, and 83Plus Silver Edition.
- V2IVIEW setup package (ZIP file -
2.7 mb) Posted 06/01/03. For the Voyage 200, TI-92 Plus, and TI-92.
- Grab89 setup package (ZIP file - 1.54mb)
Grab89 works with the TI-89, TI-92, TI-92Plus, and Voyage 200. It automatically
detects screensize and adjusts accordingly. Also includes a 'raw' mode, in
which only the pixel-for-pixel image is produced. No sizing or coloring information
is copied to the clipboard, only the 'raw' image.
- Grab83 version 2 setup package
(ZIP file - 2.1mb) supports black, grey, and USB cables. New user interface
(03/22/2002). Support for color (choose your pixel color and background color
or choose a horizontal or vertical gradient fill for the background). The
'Screenshot' button and any modifications to the image automatically update
the clipboard, so the image is ready for pasting into your favorite Windows
application. My TI-83 Symbols Template for Word includes a button and macro
to get a screenshot with this program and paste it into Word, all with one
click of the button. Just run Grab83 in the background of Word and click
the Grab83 button.
and... here's a sample of Grab89 ( just like
Grab83 for the TI-89 AND TI-92+):
